The Kazakh-British University (KBTU) in Almaty, Kazakhstan is launching a unique new English language master’s Program: “MBA in Digital Media”. This cutting edge one year intensive degree program will train and equip the student not only to work in the fast paced digital world but also to make sense of it.

The MBA in Digital Media Program will prepare information professionals who will be able to form and deliver desired messages to a target audience using multiple new media technologies and means. These fast and smart strategic communicators will also understand political, economic and cultural contexts and sensitivities, and will perform their duties professionally and ethically in digital age.

Why MBA in Digital Media?

Factual, relevant and timely information is a precious commodity in the age of instant communication and fast changing information technologies. In the globalized world technology plays a key role in connecting companies and countries, people and cultures. It affects businesses and economy as well as social and cultural relationships.

Due to convergence of knowledge, economy and technology business & industry and also public organizations and academia are adopting cross cultural and interdisciplinary approaches and strategies. Professionals are expected to have multiple skills and competencies that are needed for the increasingly technology-led work environment.

In the interconnected world of ours disseminating and receiving accurate information is extremely important for business purposes but also for creating understanding, building knowledge. Without quality information we can’t make informed and rational decisions in our personal and professional lives. But reaching to a target audience is a challenge in the age of information overload.

Due to the above reasons political actors, businesses, non-profit organizations and millions of other stakeholders need media literate specialists who can sort out the right information from the relentless flow of information swiftly, and use it to develop understanding and increase productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.

Our graduates with a "MBA in Digital Media” will have sound knowledge cutting across various disciplines. The integrated MBA in Digital Media will provide the student an understanding of different but inter-connected fields of knowledge and more importantly will equip him with multiple communication skills that are in high demand in the local, regional and international markets.

Study Duration

12 months practical and module based very intensive study program that will be spread in three countries. Students will have the opportunity to study and complete their projects in Dubai or Nepal or Kazakhstan.

Final media Project

During the course the student will spend four weeks in the field in Kazakhstan, Nepal or Dubai to work on their final project on wild life, tourism (Mount Everest), ecology, culture and so on. The project could be a 20 minute visual report (documentary) or 10000-word feature.
