JSC Institute of Fuel, Catalysis and Electrochemistry named after D.V. Sokolsky” was founded on December 1, 1969. Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR D.V. Sokolsky - Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR No. 543 of August 25, 1969

  At present, JSC "Institute of Fuel, Catalysis and Electrochemistry named after D.V.Sokolsky" is a subsidiary of JSC "Kazakhstan-British Technical University" (KBTU).

JSC Institute of Fuel, Catalysis and Electrochemistry named after D.V. Sokolsky” is the leading scientific institution in Kazakhstan in the field of fuel, catalysis and electrochemistry, whose scientific achievements have received international recognition. The activities of the Institute are aimed at integrating scientific, educational and production processes in the field of fuel, petrochemistry, catalysis and electrochemistry.

Directions

1) development of new science-intensive catalytic technologies for oil and gas processing; petrochemical and organic synthesis of mono- and polymeric substances; new electrochemical technologies in the field of hydroelectrometallurgy, refractory metals, production of ultrapure metals, semiconductor and anticorrosion compositions, nanostructured powders of metals and alloys, biologically active substances;

2) development of new catalytic and electrochemical technologies for protecting the environment from harmful components of emissions from industrial enterprises, energy and vehicles, and protecting metal structures from corrosion;

3) making a profit through the effective use of the scientific and economic potential of the Company, directing part of the profit to finance fundamental and applied research, developing the Company's infrastructure, investing in joint ventures and projects to create high-tech industries.
