Greatings from the Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering

Dear prospective students and visitors !

It is a pleasure to great everyone interested in the news from the School of Chemical Engineering! I hope that this insite will benefit you.

High school students and prospective applicants can learn about the opportunities, research and educational surrounding and quality of training in our Department and make a choice: who to be, what and where to study, to be the most sought-after specialist majored in chemical engineering! Undergraduates and doctoral students will receive information on the research achievements and development prospects of the School of Chemical Engineering.

KBTU's Department of Chemical Engineering is a worthy choice! Why?

Since its inception, the School has been successfully conducting research and educational activities and has trained about 500 chemical engineers.

The undergraduate program of the School of Chemical Engineering has been recognized as the best in Kazakhstan over the past 8 years according to the IQAA rating (the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education in Kazakhstan), has experience in obtaining international accreditation (IMAREST, Royal Engineering Council, UK) or licensing programs by BTEC international agency.

Our students are trained by highly qualified Kazakhstan's and foreign professors.

The School of Chemical Engineering provides an opportunity for the best students within the framework of academic mobility to pass an internship in the leading universities and research centers in Korea (Sejong University), Malaysia (University Sains Malaysia), Switzerland (Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne), Spain (San Jorge University), France (Saint-Etienne School of Mines), etc.

A dual education system has been introduced at the School of Chemical Engineering, which combines deep theoretical knowledge with real practical activity, that is, a student undergoes training both in classrooms and in industry. Our partners give this opportunity to our students: oil refineries in Kazakhstan (Atyrau Refinery, Petrochemical Plant, PetroKazakhstan), Romania (RomPetrol), etc. This undoubtedly strengthens the role of the employer in the learning process and contributes to the maximum demand for our graduates.

Student life is not limited to lectures, exams, but also includes numerous competitions, intellectual games, olympiads, sports and hiking, participation in KVN (Club of the Funny and Inventive People) and, of course, a Student Club for Chemical Engineers (SKCE).

Not so much time has passed since the Department of Chemical Engineering was established, but we already have made significant progress. And most importantly, these are our graduates who successfully work in large national and foreign companies: KazMunaiGas, TengizChevroil, NCOC, Petrofac (UAE), Atyrau Oil Refining, Schlumberger, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating, Medherant (British Pharmaceutical Company), as well as continuing their studies for master's and PhD degree in the world front universities: Warwick University (Great Britain), Tokyo Institute of Technology (Japan), KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), etc.

All those who believe in their strength and intellect, make the most daring plans and want to be in demand in the field of chemical engineering, we invite you to join us!

I wish you well-being, loyal friends, success in your studies, perseverance in achieving your goals and just good luck!
