The KazHackStan Conference is an annual event in the field of information security held in Kazakhstan, bringing together experts, researchers, and cybersecurity enthusiasts. The conference also includes competitions on the "CyberKumbez" cyber range.
From September 11 to 13, 2024, KBTU graduates Kabyll Kanat and Bekmaganbet Nurkhat, as part of the "Scimus Verum" team, participated in the KazHackStan 2024 cyber range and took 4th place. Teams from various countries, including Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan, participated in the competition. The "Scimus Verum" team successfully hacked a barrier system, identified business risks, and became one of the leading teams in finding vulnerabilities in infrastructure.
Fourth-year students Zhakayeva Zhanel and Saduakas Sultan participated in the annual CTF KazHackStan competition as part of the blue team representing the Operational Information Security Center (OISC) of JSC "Kazakhtelecom." They achieved excellent results, scoring 20,800 points, and were awarded certificates by the organizers. Both students work at JSC "Kazakhtelecom" on the second line of the security operation center.
