The scientific and practical conference on the topic "Current State and Prospects for the Development of Science in Kazakhstan" was organized by the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of the President's Address. The event took place on September 16, 2024, in Almaty, at the Kazakh-British Technical University. The conference became an important platform for discussing key scientific development issues raised in the President's Address, relating to the future of science.

The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, academics from the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, heads of universities and research institutes, leading scientists from Kazakhstan and abroad, independent experts, and talented young scientists actively involved in the development of domestic science.

In his speech on the topic of preparing future specialists to strengthen the development of Kazakhstan's human potential, the Rector (Chairman of the Board) of JSC Kazakh-British Technical University, M.T. Gabdullin, emphasized:

"Without the development of domestic science and the preparation of qualified personnel, technological progress is impossible. Scientific research must yield practical results that will contribute to improving the quality of life in society. In this regard, Kazakh-British Technical University is actively working on training competitive specialists. We understand that in today's world, universities must not only provide academic knowledge but also equip graduates with practical and informal skills necessary for adapting to the challenges of the modern world."

Participants of the conference discussed the current state of science in Kazakhstan and its prospects in the context of the President's Address. The speakers focused on topics such as the digitalization of science, the development of artificial intelligence, the need for healthcare system reform, and the enhancement of state support measures in the agricultural sector, among other important issues mentioned in the President's Address. Special attention was given to the significance of civil society, social justice, and security as key elements of a strategy for creating favorable living conditions for citizens.

The conference also focused on the development of the agricultural sector, including the introduction of innovative technologies, the modernization of irrigation systems and infrastructure, and the use of water-saving technologies to increase the competitiveness of Kazakhstan's agricultural products on international markets.

 

Additionally, the possibility of building a nuclear power plant (NPP) was discussed as one of the solutions for sustainable energy development and ensuring the country's energy security.
