This crash course introduces the basic programming techniques oriented on Python coding language. Python is a multipurpose high-level interpreted coding language. It is trendy among beginners because of its simplicity and modularity. Python is a solid and robust tool in the hands of data scientists since its simplicity helps them concentrate on the programming objectives without spending too much effort on achieving the best coding practices and coding maintainability.
Learning Objectives:
- To understand the main concepts of programming
- To be able to solve basic statistical and mathematical problems using Python
The course will take place on March 29, 30, 31.

- Introduction to programming: high- and low-level coding languages
- Variables and Data Types, Strings, Type Conversion
- Arithmetic Operators, Logical Operators, IF statement
Session 2 | Introduction to Python and its main modules and libraries
- While Loops, Lists, Lists Methods, For Loops
- Python Collections • Introduction to NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas
- Importing CSV files
Session 3 | Data Analysis
- Descriptive statistics, frequency distribution, stem-and-leaf display, boxplot
- Introduction to probability, beta distribution, PERT distribution
- Inferential statistics, cross tabulation, ANOVA, ANCOVA, bivariate linear regression
- Demand forecasting with time series analysis
Risk analysis with Monte Carlo simulations
