The drilling technologies training centre was launched on March 4 in Atyrau within the frames of the memorandum on cooperation between the Kazakh-British Technical University, Baker Hughes and KazPetroDrilling companies.
“The aim of launching this centre is elaboration of the competitive environment for dynamic and stable development of the workforce pool in the oil and gas and energy industries of the Republic of Kazakhstan, - KBTU rector Kenzhebek Ibrashev noted. - The educational program of the centre is focused on the areas related to the drilling technologies”.
The new training centre passed the IWCF (International Well Control Forum) accreditation and is fitted with a DrillSim-20 simulator, a full-scale drilling simulator DrillSim-5000 and special models of the drilling equipment that allow the trainees to gain practical skills of conducting various operations during drilling works.
The Kazakh-British Technical University realizes full-cycle training programs for the development of technical competencies and advanced training of the specialists in accordance with the state program on development of the human capital. The programs comply with the requirements of the international educational standards.
The active part in opening the centre was played by Baker Hughes company that shared its unique experience in nine areas of drilling technologies. That knowledge will be applied for training specialists including teachers and students of KBTU.
The Kazakhstan drilling holding KazPetroDrilling provided a modern office that complies with the international standards for the centre and also sent the first attendees to the training.
The first two courses were successfully conducted in the new training centre.
