Step 1. Submission of electronic applications in Study Space https://kbtu.studyspace.kz/login#sign-in

You should fill all necessary points there. All necessary documents are uploaded to the system, and the application form is filled in there.

For Bachelor: passport, scanned copy of educational documents, certificate of language proficiency, English Test,  Motivational letter(600 words), Interview and other documents

For Masters: passport, scanned copy of educational documents, certificate of language proficiency, motivational letter(600 words), 2 recommendation letters (at least one academic) and other documents

For PhD: passport, scanned copy of educational documents, certificate of language proficiency, English Test, Motivational letter(600 words), 2 recommendation letters (at least one academic), Research Proposal (2500 words) and other documents

Step 2. After receiving the full package of documents, interview will be scheduled with candidates who fulfill the requirements.

Step 3.  Results of interview will be communicated within 5 days.

Visa Support

A student from abroad has the right to enter the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan only after receiving an appropriate invitation from the University from the Department for Internationalization and Strategic Development (hereinafter – DISD, office 426). To do this, the student fills out an invitation form for the purpose of obtaining a primary study visa (this visa does not give the work permit), sends it to the DISD no later before the intended entry into the country.

 

An international student must take timely care of:

- on the extension of the validity period of their national passport;

- on the restoration of the passport in case of its loss;

- on the registration of a residence permit of the Republic of Kazakhstan (if necessary);

- on registration of citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan (if necessary);

- about the notification of DISD in case of a change of address or contact information.

Students must notify DISD at least three days before entering the RK/ leaving the RK / when changing their place of residence in the RK.

 

Upon arrival in Kazakhstan, every foreign citizen, including holders of a residence permit, must have a negative PCR test. It must be issued no later than 72 hours before crossing the border. This requirement applies to all types of border crossings, except for children under the age of 5, if there is a Certificate from their accompanying persons. In case of arrival with an expired PCR certificate, the foreigner may be deported.

International students with a residence permit in the Republic of Kazakhstan must pass a temporary registration, if the actual address of residence does not correspond to the permanent address of registration.

The student has full responsibility, including material (payment of penalties), in case of violation of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and / or these Rules.

All other costs associated with stay in the Republic of Kazakhstan are covered by students.

Current situation for January 2022

 

  • Citizens of the CIS countries who have arrived in Kazakhstan for a period of more than 30 calendar days needed a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP). Student must bring a passport to the DISD in order to obtain the TRP within 30 days.
  • The TRP is required to be obtained at each entry of a foreigner into the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. When a foreign citizen leaves the country, the temporary residence permit ceases to be valid.

 

Attention!

In case of a change of place of residence (with an official check out from the current place of residence in Almaty), when changing the address of residence in Almaty (with an official check out from the current place of residence in Almaty), departure to another city (with an official check out from the current place of residence in the city of Almaty), the receiving party must notify the migration office (of that city) within 3 working days from the date of arrival.  On arrival to Almaty, student must immediately notify KBTU DISD on the day of arrival.

The applicants, when filling out the application form should attach the scanned copies of the following documents:

 

Bachelor degree:

· Passport;

· A document on the previous level of education with a transcript and supplement (if available) and a notarized translation into Kazakh or Russian or English (for applicants for a bachelor's degree - the average score of the document confirming secondary education with a grade of at least "good" );

· Motivational essay in Kazakh or Russian or English;

· A letter of recommendation in Kazakh or Russian or English from the educational organization in which the applicant studied, or from the employer;

· A medical certificate for study abroad, containing the conclusions of a therapist, narcologist, psychiatrist, as well as data from an X-ray (fluorographic) examination, laboratory tests, as well as a medical certificate confirming the absence of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV infection) and AIDS, issued by official health authority of the applicant's country of residence. If the medical certificate for a person going to study abroad does not contain the listed medical conclusions, then these conclusions are provided separately; · Application form;

· Letter of invitation from the Kazakhstan university (if available).

 

Master degree:

· Passport;

· A document on the previous level of education with a transcript and an appendix (if available) and a notarized translation into Kazakh or Russian or English (bachelor's or specialist diploma with an average score of at least 3.0 (out of 4.0) GPA or its equivalent obtained in educational institutions;

· Motivational essay in Kazakh or Russian or English;

· 2 letters of recommendation in Kazakh or Russian or English from the educational organization in which the applicant studied, or from the employer;

· A medical certificate for study abroad, containing the conclusions of a therapist, narcologist, psychiatrist, as well as data from an X-ray (fluorographic) examination, laboratory tests, as well as a medical certificate confirming the absence of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV infection) and AIDS, issued by official health authority of the applicant's country of residence. If the medical certificate for a person going to study abroad does not contain the listed medical conclusions, then these conclusions are provided separately; · Application form;

· An international certificate confirming knowledge of a foreign language:

· English: IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System Academic) threshold score - at least 5.5;

· TOEFL IBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-based test), threshold score - at least 46;

· TOEFL PBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language Paper-based test), threshold score - at least 453;

· German: Deutsche Sprachpruefung fuer den Hochschulzugang (DSH, Niveau B2/level B2), TestDaF-Prufung (Niveau B2/level B2);

· French: TFI (Test de Français International™) - not lower than B2 level in reading and listening sections), DELF (Diplome d'Etudes en Langue française) - level B2, DALF (Diplome Approfondi de Langue française) - level B2, TCF (Test de connaissance du français) - at least 50 points.

· An international certificate confirming the knowledge of a foreign language by a person for whom the indicated languages are native is not required;

 

PhD degree:

· Passport;

· A document on the previous level of education with a transcript and an appendix (if available) and a notarized translation into Kazakh or Russian or English (bachelor's or specialist diploma with an average score of at least 3.0 (out of 4.0) GPA or its equivalent obtained in educational institutions;

· Motivational essay in Kazakh or Russian or English;

· 2 letters of recommendation in Kazakh or Russian or English from the educational organization in which the applicant studied, or from the employer;

· A medical certificate for study abroad, containing the conclusions of a therapist, narcologist, psychiatrist, as well as data from an X-ray (fluorographic) examination, laboratory tests, as well as a medical certificate confirming the absence of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV infection) and AIDS, issued by official health authority of the applicant's country of residence. If the medical certificate for a person going to study abroad does not contain the listed medical conclusions, then these conclusions are provided separately; · Application form;

· Substantiation of the topic of the dissertation research in the language of instruction (Kazakh or Russian or English);

· An international certificate confirming knowledge of a foreign language:

· TOEFL IBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-based test), threshold score - at least 46;
