The Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan was adopted at a national referendum on August 30, 1995 (with subsequent amendments and additions from 1998 and 2007).

The Constitution, as the basic law of the country, reflects the will of the people of Kazakhstan, their desire to establish the country "as a democratic, secular, legal and social state, the highest values of which are a person, his life, rights and freedoms" (N. Nazarbayev).

The first article of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan establishes itself as a democratic, secular, legal and social state, the highest values of which are a person, his life, rights and freedoms. According to the recognition of the first President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, the Constitution of Kazakhstan is the foundation of freedom. Thus, the Constitution gave the people of Kazakhstan the most important thing — the right to choose.
