During the period from November 13 to November 17, the VIII Open Eurasian Book Forum and Literature Festival (OEBF-2019) took place in Brussels, Belgium. Our senior lector of KBTU General Faculty and Kazakh maritime academy, Dana Zheteyeva participated in it this year. The Contest is conducted annually in different cities and countries of the world bringing together creative people from various parts of our planet.
Dana Otegenovna participates in this competition for several years. Last year she took the third place in the category “Literary translation”. This year there were more than 1200 applications from more than 30 countries admitted to the contest. She participated in the same category having translated into English a poem of Russian poetess Aya Li “In my chest”. Together with other talented writers, poets, artists and translators she received a Certificate of Merit from the “Generals of the World for Peace” for the best work dedicated to the theme of strengthening peace, friendship and understanding between nations.
While being in Brussels, the delegation from Kazakhstan was invited to the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of Belgium. That evening was dedicated to the upcoming 175th anniversary of Abay Kunanbayev. During the evening there were cited poems and works devoted to the great Kazakh thinker and poet. The writers and poets presented their books to Aigul Kuspan, the ambassador and other diplomats working far away from their motherland.
