On November 20 the award ceremony of the grant named after Denis Ten within the frames of the Management meeting with the students of the 3-4th courses took place in KBTU.

There were more than 80 talented students who participated in the competitive admissions for the grant named after Denis Ten. As a result three of them became the holders of the grant. They are the students of the second year: Laura Kaibuldina (FIT, Master of sports in Rhythmic Gymnastics) and Anar Iskendirova (FGE, Candidate Master of Sports in Wushu), as well as the first year FEOGI student, chess player Talgat Sadykov.

The scholarship is addressed to the gifted students of KBTU, who make significant inputs into development of sport, culture, patriotism and moral upbringing of the youth.

“I must remind you that Denis Ten was an Executive MBA Master Program student of Business School of KBTU and actively participated in the life of our university. Despite the great success in sports, he never stopped at the achieved and continued developing in different areas, inspiring our young people by means of his own example. That is why we decided to name the KBTU cinema hall after him, as well as assign a scholarship named after Denis Ten with the support of «KBTU Endowment» corporate fund so that we could commemorate our champion and continue his deeds” – said KBTU rector, Kenzhebek Ibrashev.

Oxana Ten, Denis’s mother attended the award ceremony. “It is so unexpected and extremely pleasant that KBTU decided to establish such a scholarship and thus, together implement Denis’s dream – to help the talented young people realize themselves in various fields. We conduct huge work on the development of figure skating in Kazakhstan. Recently we conducted the first international tournament on figure skating “Denis Ten’s Memorial”. And it is only the start of the journey”. – Oxana ten said.

Further on during the meeting of the University management and the students there were report presentations on the solved students’ and infrastructure issues. The students were told about innovations in KBTU life, Master’s and PHD programs, as well as providing the opportunity to ask questions and express their ideas. All the worthy of attention problems and proposals were sent to the relevant structures of the University.
