Monday 23 September: A senior research fellow of Sobolev Institute of Mathematics Novosibirsk, Russia, has arrived at the Kazakh-British Technical University for a two-week visit during which he will participate in research and teaching & learning activities.
Nikolay Bazhenov will work with KBTU School of Mathematics and Cybernetics professors, in particular with Professor Mik Serikzhan Badayev on a joint research project. During his stay, Bazhenov will also lead seminars and give guest lectures to KBTU students.
Nikolai Bazhenov is one of the outstanding students of the distinguished academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Director of Sobolev Institute of Mathematics, Professor Dr. Sergey Goncharov. The research areas of Bazhenov are mathematical logic, algebra and number theory, especially the theory of computable structures.
It is hoped that this exchange of faculty will further strengthen the cooperation between the Kazakh-British Technical University and Sobolev Institute of Mathematics.
