A delegation of Petronas University of Technology (Universiti Teknologi Petronas, UTP) Malaysia visited KBTU on Monday 16 September. UTP Deputy Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Hilmi B. Mukhtar led the delegation. KBTU Rector Kenzhebek Ibrashev welcomed the UTP delegation and expressed interest in collaborating with UTP. The guests were briefed about KBTU programs, plans and activities.

Later, the UTP delegation visited the simulators of the Kazakhstan Maritime Academy, Emerson and Siemens laboratories, the Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials and Technologies laboratories, as well as the subsidiary Institute of Chemical Sciences named after A.B. Bekturov and the Institute of Fuel, Catalysis and Electrochemistry named after D.V. Sokolsky.

Universiti Teknologi Petronas was founded in 1997. It is one of the best private universities in Malaysia. UTP offers a wide range of engineering and science and technology undergraduate programs, and engineering and IT graduate and postgraduate programs. The university conducts extensive research activities. UTP has graduated over 10,000 professionals and currently trains over 6,000 undergraduate and 1,200 graduate students from over 66 countries.
