Associate Professor of the School of Economics (SE) Birzhan Batkeyev participated in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Academic Fellowship Program in Washington, D.C. this year. Only ten participants worldwide were selected based on their professional work and research.

Professor Batkeyev had the opportunity to interact with several IMF staff members, including IMF Chief Economist Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas, IMF Spokesperson Julie Kozack, and IMF Mission Chief for Kazakhstan Nicolas Blancher, among others. He also attended the 25th Annual Jacques Polak Research Conference, where he engaged with academics from around the globe.
