On September 26, a guest lecture was held by the Chief Geophysicist of Stryde, Inc (UK), Mr. Amine Ourabah, for students and staff of the School of Geology, as well as representatives of subsoil user companies, oil service, and engineering firms.
In his presentation, "Modern Methods of Seismic Data Processing," Amine Ourabah provided a detailed overview of the application of breakthrough seismic exploration technologies for fieldwork.
The event was organized by the KBTU Project Management Office, the School of Geology, and Samga Petroleum, which is the exclusive partner of Stryde, Inc in Kazakhstan.
It should be noted that the guest lecture was held within the framework of the tripartite Memorandum of Cooperation signed in November 2023 between KBTU, Stryde, Inc, and Samga Petroleum. Mr. Amine Ourabah’s presentation to KBTU students and invited experts was an important milestone in the development of mutually beneficial partnerships, alongside the Summer Geological Field Training for second-year students held in June of this year.
The presentation captivated the audience. Representatives from companies (PGS Kazakhstan, Crystal Management, Kazgermunai JV, Geoscience Consulting, BGP Geophysical Services Kazakhstan, ALTGEO, ENVK, and others), as well as students, showed great interest in the advanced seismic exploration technologies and data processing methods presented.
