On August 27, a solemn ceremony was held in Almaty, at the "Gylym Ordasy" building, where the new academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan were presented. The ceremony was attended by representatives of 42 universities and 40 research institutes, more than 50 young scientists, and members of the media.
The President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akhylbek Kazyghulovich Kurishbayev, emphasized the need for reforms in the scientific field and the creation of a new governance mechanism where scientists play a key role. He noted that granting the Academy a state status under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is an important step in implementing these changes.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek, in his video address, reminded the audience of the instruction given by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on June 1, 2022, to enhance the role of the Academy and the importance of the adopted law "On Science and Technological Policy."
The Mayor of Almaty, Yerbolat Askarbekovich Dosaev, in his congratulatory speech, emphasized the role of Almaty as a major center of science and education in Kazakhstan.
During the event, Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education Darkhan Zhumakanovich Akhmed-Zaki presented diplomas and badges to the newly elected academicians. Additionally, a meeting of the Council of Young Scientists was held, where the Chairman of the Council, Maksat Kizatovich Zhabagin, presented a report on the work done.
This event highlighted the significance of the scientific community in the development of Kazakhstan and marked a new stage in the history of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
