On August 16, KBTU hosted a meetup dedicated to current issues of sustainable development and the role of technology in addressing them.
The event was organized by the ESG Lab of the KBTU Project Management Office and the NGO CAICA (Climate Action Initiative Central Asia).
CAICA is a community dedicated to supporting and developing environmentally sustainable projects and entrepreneurs. ESG Lab is a new division of the KBTU Project Management Office, focused on implementing ESG transformation goals and the global ESG agenda for universities, including through supporting projects in environmental, social, and corporate areas.
The meetup was attended by about 50 experts representing leading specialized analytical centers and development institutions, companies in the fields of natural resource management, ESG consulting, green entrepreneurship, the student community, and the KBTU business incubator.
During the discussion, the activities of the ESG Lab of the KBTU Project Management Office and the NGO CAICA were presented, and opportunities for participation in joint projects and events were discussed. Experts from KBTU, AlmaU, and the International Educational Corporation (IEC) also spoke about the training of specialists in green professions.
The meetup allowed participants to exchange views on pressing issues of sustainable development, including staff training, biodiversity conservation, the development of green entrepreneurship, and the development and implementation of green technologies.
