On April 26, 2024, Professor Stefan Rahimi of the University of Wyoming, Department of Atmospheric Sciences, WU Callie Berman School of Computing and Postdoctoral Studies visited KBTU in order to expand cooperation between the U.S and Kazakhstan in order to create a climate change resilience zone.

The researchers gave lectures on global climate models and regional decline modeling, as well as on the partnership between the U.S and Kazakhstan, which is vital for achieving successful results in Central Asia. The following issues were discussed at the seminar: regional climate forecasts using high-performance computing methods and opportunities for future collaboration with researchers in Kazakhstan.
