On April 13, 2024, the Interuniversity English Language Olympiad among students of non-linguistic specialties was held at the IITU. The main goal of the student Olympiad is to strengthen motivation to learn English, develop the need and ability for practical proficiency in speech activities.
The Olympiad was attended by the 1st and 2nd year students from the best technical universities in the country: (KBTU, IITU, AUES, Satbayev University and Turan University).
The competition consisted of 2 stages:
1. Essay writing;
2. Solution and presentation of cases.
From the first minutes of the event, 1st year KBTU students – Raylan Baigazy, Gaukhar Maidanova, Alexey Chumakov, Louay Ziani and Malika Bimuratova took the chief laurels. During 2 difficult stages, students of our University, under the guidance of the most experienced mentors of the English language sector of SNSS Yeshengazina Saule and Zarykbai Saltanat, demonstrating well-coordinated teamwork and a high level of English proficiency, showed the best result and became first in the overall standings. Thus, the “Champions Cup” returned to its lares and penates.
