As part of bilateral relations between JSC KBTU and the development of a new laboratory in the field of industrial automation and digitalization “Industrial Automation Lab” from Schneider Electric, professor of the School of Information Technology and Engineering Samigulina Z.I. and junior technical support of Schneider Electric Kazakhstan, Damira Koyanbayeva (bachelor student of the specialty “Automation and Control”) took part in the International Industrial Forum: New innovations in energy and mechanical engineering, Almaty 2024.
The forum consists of four exhibitions: mechanical engineering and metalworking, PowerTech Expo, Renewable Energy Expo and EnergySaveExpo.
As part of the business program, entrepreneurs, experts, representatives of industry, and technical education exchange experiences with the aim of further development of the industry. The forum was held with the official support of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan, the Institute for the Development of Electric Power and Energy Supply, the Association of Electric Power Engineers, the Union of Energy Engineers of Kazakhstan, the Renewable Energy Association Qazaq green and the representative office of the German Economy in Central Asia.
Speakers from KBTU presented the concept of higher engineering education for Industry 4.0.
The laboratory facilities of the university for the development of engineering education are considered.
The scientific research of KBTU teachers using artificial intelligence, which contributes to the development of the university’s educational programs in the field of industrial automation, was discussed.
Koyanbayeva D. presented a project to modernize a water treatment plant (scientific supervisor Prof. Samigulina Z.I.) based on the new laboratory of KBTU "Industrial Automation Lab" using industrial controllers from Schneider Electric of the Modicon M340 and Modicon M241 series under software control EcoStructure Control Expert and EcoStructure Machine Expert.
The use of modern industrial equipment in education, close connections with industry, as well as the introduction of innovative approaches based on artificial intelligence in education allows us to train high-class specialists for the development of the Industry 4.0 concept.
