The Rector of KBTU held a meeting with the Rector of Robert Gordon University on February 29 in London to discuss a number of issues of cooperation in accordance with the memorandum signed in August 2023.
The issues of the two-degree PhD program in Petroleum Engineering at KBTU and Engineering Doctorate at RGU were discussed in detail. Starting from the new academic year, a two-degree PhD program in Petroleum Engineering (Kazakhstan) and Doctor of Engineering (Great Britain) will be launched. For the first year of the Kazakh component, the scientific and pedagogical master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering is counted.
“Cooperation with RGU is a combination of interests, one common goal for our two universities is to give students the opportunity to plunge into practice with their heads. RGU is located in the energy capital of Europe, recognized as a world leader in technologies for the use of reproducible resources. All these facts contributed to our desire to create a common program for obtaining a double degree in doctoral studies, which, we are sure, will arouse great interest and amazing results,” said Maratbek Gabdullin, rector of KBTU.
