On December 01, KBTU, with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a specialized Technical Day session on topical issues of subsurface use and implementation of innovative projects in the oil and gas sector.

 

In his welcoming speech, the Rector, Chairman of the Board of KBTU M.T. Gabdullin noted the high level of expertise of the event and stressed that KBTU, being one of the leading educational and scientific centers in the region, has all the necessary accreditations and high potential for developing innovations in demand by the market and training highly qualified personnel at the request of subsoil users

 

 

During the first part, the Joint Section of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and KBTU, the current changes in the R&D financing mechanism were highlighted on the basis of Joint Orders of the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 05.10.2023. The speakers of the section were the heads of JSC "Situational Analytical Center of the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and members of the Public Council on the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

In the second part, a practical seminar was held on the implementation of technological solutions (Industry 4.0, ESET, Smart Field, Digital twins, VR/AR, Upstream, Midstream, Downstream) at subsurface user facilities. KBTU researchers presented their innovative developments: D.V. Sokolsky Institute of Fuel, Catalysis and Electrochemistry, A.B. Bekturov Institute of Chemical Sciences, KBTU School of Energy and Oil and Gas Industry, KBTU Project Management Office, KBTU Game Lab, and technology partners and industry leaders: Axellect Kazakhstan, Honeywell Kazakhstan, KNOC, Samga Petroleum, Oil gas Engineering.

 

There was also a direct connection of the Situational Analytical Center of the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which presented an innovative platform for the analytical system of the Fuel and energy Complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan based on artificial intelligence.

During the Technical Day, an expo zone was organized with a demonstration of innovative developments of the participants.

 

The event was attended by about 50 experts representing government agencies, 15 subsoil user companies, 5 oilfield service and engineering companies, KBTU Schools and Institutes.
