On November 19, the second-year cadets of the KMA returned from the Netherlands after completing a month's practice on the sailing ship Eindracht.
During the practice, the cadets made a journey of 1,945 nautical miles (3,602 kilometers) under sail traction. The route passed through the North Sea through the ports of Rotterdam (Netherlands), Edinburgh (UK), Gothenburg (Sweden), Koppingen (Denmark), as well as through the busiest shipping lanes in the world Skagerrak and Kattegat.
It can be unequivocally stated that this hike was the most difficult in the history of the KMA in terms of navigation. The difficult navigational situation, complete with unpredictable weather, forced the sailors to constantly, sometimes 6 times per four-hour watch, manipulate the sails.
The cadets received an unforgettable first acquaintance with the sea, as well as an excellent opportunity to put into practice the knowledge gained within the walls of KBTU.
