The XXIV forum of the World Petroleum Council (World Petroleum Council) was held in Calgary, Canada, from September 17 to 21.

It should be noted that previously the VII Forum of the WPC Youth Wing was held for the first time in Kazakhstan, on the basis of KBTU in the fall of 2022. The Almaty Declaration was adopted at the Youth Forum for the first time in the last 30 years. The forum resolution tasked KBTU to create a hub of petroleum universities.

KBTU delegation, consisting of Rector (Chairman of the Board), Gabdullin M.T., Dean of the School of Energy and Petroleum Industry Ismailov A.A., Deputy Dean of the School of Energy and Petroleum Industry Abdukarimov A.K. and representative of the WPC Youth Wing from Kazakhstan, Omarova D.A. participated in the 24th WPC Forum.

On September 18, the session on the network of polytechnic universities in the energy sector was held. KBTU Rector Gabdullin M.T., presented the hub of petroleum universities, told about its purpose, mission and strategy.

September 18 can be considered the birthday of the Hub. The idea of its creation was supported by both the leadership of the Kazakhstan section and the leaders of the WPC Secretariat.
