KBTU successfully passed audit of International Well Control Forum

The Kazakh-British Technical University has successfully passed the next audit procedure of the international organization for training and certification of employees of the oil and gas industry International Well Control Forum. The IWCF-KBTU Training Center (KZ1499) has been successfully operating since 2012 and is the first accredited organization in Central Asia and Kazakhstan. Our center conducts training and certification of "Well management during drilling using ground-based air defense" according to internationally recognized IWCF level-3 and 4 standards. Moreover, KBTU has an accredited center in Atyrau with a full-size practical drilling simulator DrillSim-5000.
 

The IWCF certificate confirms the qualification of a specialist in the field of well control and management. This certificate is one of the most prestigious and respected in the oil and gas industry.
More than 1,500 engineers have been successfully trained and certified in KBTU training centers according to IWCF standards. The classes are conducted by experienced instructors, consultants in the field of drilling and cattle, who have extensive production experience in drilling oil and gas wells. The experience of conducting training seminars on well management during drilling exceeds 1000 hours.
 

Summary of the course:
Principles and procedures of well management in order to prevent, detect and eliminate complications and accidents that occur during drilling;
Well monitoring equipment;
 Practical skills of restoring primary control over the well using specialized drilling simulators DrillSim (Drilling System, UK).

 Terms of training:
7 days, 56 academic hours (5 days of study, day 6 practical exam, day 7 written exam).

The practical exam is conducted using drilling simulators DrillSim-5000 (Atyrau), DrillSim-20 (Almaty).
