On June 8, 2023, the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) hosted the first day of training “Strategic Trade Control Internal Compliance Policy” for local trainers (instructors). During the first half of the day, the team members of the European Union's Targeted Initiative (TI) on Export Control of Dual-use Goods and Technologies in Central Asia met with KBTU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Asel Jumasseitova, the Dean of the Business School Yerzhan Mukashev, and the Managing Director for Continuing Education Arman Ibrayev to discuss the education and research perspectives at KBTU.
The training is organized by the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) in collaboration with Liege University (Belgium) and the Central Asian Institute for Development Studies. After the opening remarks by Hendrik Vesser, Senior Manager of ISTC, and Yerzhan Mukashev, the Dean of KBTU Business School, Dr Jean-Pascal Zanders from the Trench and Professor Quentin Michel from Liege University provided a comprehensive introduction to Strategic Trade Control for the faculty members from KBTU, Satbayev University (SU), and Suleyman Demirel University (SDU) who are involved in the project.
