On May 23, 2023, a meeting was held between representatives of the Kazakh-British Technical University and the UK government, where important issues of cooperation were discussed. The meeting was successful and brought many useful ideas and promising opportunities for both parties.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the UK government: Mr Kenan Poleo, UK Trade Commissioner for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and Mr Stephen Brennan, deputy regional director for Trade and Investment. KBTU was represented by Maratbek Gabdullin, rector of KBTU (Chairman of the Board), Asel Jumasseitova, vice-rector for Academic Affairs, Didar Batryshev, managing director for Science and Innovation, Arman Ibraev, managing director for Additional Education, Abdulakhat Ismailov, dean of the School of Energy and Oil and Gas Industry, Erzhan Mukashev, dean of the Business School, Madina Bigabatova, deputy dean of the International School of Economics, Azamat Imanbaev, dean of the School of Information Technology and Engineering.
The agenda included a discussion of cooperation opportunities, namely, cooperation with the Department of International Trade and a presentation of current KBTU projects in the field of energy transition, hydrogen energy and information technology. The guests visited the Independence Hall, the Kazakhstan Maritime Academy, the room named after. D. Kunaev, laboratories Honeywell, Baker Hughes, nanotechnology and robotics laboratory.
The meeting was an important step in the development of cooperation between KBTU and the UK. Both sides expressed their readiness to continue successful cooperation.
