On April 21, the patriotic action «We remember! We are proud! We honour!» in honour of the International Day of Monuments and Historic Sites. The participants of the action honoured the memory of great people, laid flowers at the monuments, and read their poems.
The flower-laying ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Commission for the perpetuation of the monuments of the participants of the Great Patriotic War and noble people of the Republic of Kazakhstan Khasenova Naziya Yesimzhanovna, members of the Council of Veterans. Students and teachers of the Kazakh-British Technical University also came to pay tribute to the people who died for Motherland. Each of them laid red carnations at the monument.
On behalf of the University, Vice-Rector for Social and Educational Issues Smolyakova E.S. congratulated everyone on a great day. History teachers Teleuova Elmira Teshebaevna and Zhappasov Zharylkasyn Erkinovich told the participants about the heroic deeds and plight of those people in front of whose monuments the event was held. These were T. Ryskulov, A. Dzhangildin, O. Dzhandosov, S. Seifullin, A. Imanov, M. Frunze and others.
As part of the action, KBTU students initiated the digitization of monuments and historical sites of the city of Almaty. As an example, plates with QR codes were installed on 10 monuments. At the start of the youth project «Eskertkışter söilesın!» students consider it their duty to honour the memory of great people, they are deeply convinced that there is no future without history and showed how to make the monuments and historical places of their native city speak for themselves. KBTU students are ready to contribute to the preservation and development of Kazakhstan's cultural heritage sites.
