The cooperation is aimed at expanding the interaction of expert, educational and scientific fields. The Memorandum was signed between the President of the World Petroleum Council (hereinafter - the WPC) Pedro Miras and KBTU Rector Maratbek Gabdullin.
The WPC plays the role of the largest international non-political and non-profit association of the global energy sector. The organization is designed to bring together world energy leaders, experts and young professionals to discuss key issues on the global energy agenda.
After the World Petroleum Council was held in Almaty in 2022, KBTU was recognized as a leader in training professional national personnel for the oil and gas industry, with experience in expert and analytical competence.
Maratbek Gabdullin, Rector of the Kazakh-British Technical University:
"It is a great honor for us to become a partner of such a significant international organization as the World Petroleum Council. KBTU became the first university in history to join the WPC. In the future, other international universities will join us. It will be a kind of hub of the universities of the WPC. For our part, we will actively implement the tasks set for joint cooperation."
To implement the Memorandum, a special group will be created from among the representatives of the World Petroleum Council, KBTU, the Kazakhstan National Committee of the WPC represented by the KAZENERGY Association.
