On November 2, 2022, the KBTU delegation led by the Rector of KBTU Gabdullin Maratbek Tulebergenovich, as part of the implementation of the tasks of the University Strategy to achieve the goals: Academic excellence, Science and commercialization, Digital Transformation, visited the campus of the Technical University of Munich in Heilbronn (Germany).

Recall that Technical University of Munich is the best university in Germany and is in the top 30 best universities in Times Higher Education world ranking. During a visit to the Heilbronn campus of the Technical University of Munich, the KBTU delegation got acquainted with the innovation hub, entrepreneurship center, laboratories, and start-ups in the field of energy and IT.

During the discussion at the meeting, representatives of Technical University of Munich (Heilbronn campus), KBTU partner Janser GMBh and KBTU showed interest in the following main areas of future joint activities:

  • Digital transformation: digital strategy and technologies;
  • Innovation and research: investment in innovation, commercialization of research, advanced training, mobility of researchers;
  • Cooperation with industrial partners: joint grant projects, professional trainings, EMBA programs

KBTU Rector Maratbek Tulebergenovich and TUM Rector Daniel Gottschaldt noted the importance and interest in the potential implementation of the following activities:

1. Research and joint research activities:

  • development and implementation of joint research and grant projects, including those involving international and foreign financial resources and partners;
  • organization of research mobility, advanced training of specialists and employees, undergraduates, doctoral students of KBTU.

2. Trainings:

  • joint summer schools for KBTU and KBTU partners certified by Janser and TUM in the Federal Republic of Germany;
  • joint EMBA programs: Executive MBA in Business & IT and Executive MBA in Innovation & Business Creation on the basis of KBTU with the involvement of teaching staff and TUM and Janser courses in the Federal Republic of Germany and KBTU.

3. Grant project activity:

  • creation of a new research network and participation in the existing professional network, bringing together scientists from KBTU and TUM;
  • jointly form project groups for grant programs to solve specific problems.

All parties agreed to sign a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding on these activities.
