In the period from April 12 to April 14, the Republican youth scientific, and practical conference “Integration of science and education in oil and gas universities: advanced technologies and modern trends” dedicated to the celebration of the Day of the Science Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held within the walls of KBTU.

At the opening of the conference, well-known representatives of the oil and gas expert community greeted the participants and marked the beginning of busy and informative three days. The technical opening of two oil and gas laboratories: Baker Hughes and RMK Systems took place. Then work began on thematic sections: Geology and geophysics, Development of oil and gas fields, Transportation of oil and gas, Drilling of oil and gas fields.

Within the framework of the conference, the IMPULSE intellectual tournament was held, where the teams competed in erudition on the oil and gas profile - its history, significant events and phenomena.

Tournament results:

1st place - Exxon Mobil Team (Kurmanbaeva Aruzhan, Tazhibay Alikhan, Polatkhan Merey, Abdykhamit Asan, Akhiev Imran)

2nd place - Tengizchevroil Team (Bekzhanov Temirlan, Kurmanali Adilet, Islam Aibek, Akhiev Imran, Polatbekov Diaz)

3rd place - Team KazTransOil (Tolubkanova Jasmine, Musilimkhan Aigerim, Sagyndykova Danagul, Mirzabayeva Mira, Abdrakhmanov Dinmukhammed)

4th place - Team Shell (Yalaletdinov Idris, Shtoda Irina, Baibolatova Madina, Zholdas Anel, Amangeldi Zhuldyz)

5th place - Teams KazMunaiGas (Muratov Torekhan, Muratkhanov Shyngys, Zhubaniyazova Aisulu, Huma Ijas, Shaydulla Yernur) and Lukoil (Bekbai Sabyrzhan, Baktygaliev Akhan, Zhardemov Myrzabek, Sletov Bakzat, Usmanov Ilkham)

At the end of the tournament, the conference participants were given master classes and guest lectures by successful and experienced representatives of the large international company Schlumberger. The speakers talked about the nuances of working in the oil and gas industry, about their career path and shared useful tips and life hacks with the audience.

There was also a student project fair "Oil & Gas Science Fair", where the students presented their projects to experts in the oil and gas industry from "Lukoil". The jury members highly appreciated the professional training of our students and determined the winners:

1st place - Amplified (Aytan Aibek, Shyntasuly Narul, Tleuov Nurgasyr, Utumov Tamirlan) won 500,000 tenge

2nd place - Petroleum Students Ideas (Sagyndykova Danagul, Tolupkanova Jasmine, Mirzabayeva Mira, Musilimkhan Aigerim, Abdrakhmanov Dinmukhammed) won 300,000 tenge

3rd place - Petro Soul (Baybolatova Madina, Islam Aibek, Abdykhamit Asan, Shtoda Irina, Amangeldi Zhuldyz) won 200,000 tenge

3rd place - Orazalin Zhandos Kairatuly "Factors affecting the efficiency of fluid displacement at the microscopic level and measures to improve the displacement efficiency"

Section Transportation of oil and gas

1st place - Aigerim Akbolatova "Modern methods of slowing down corrosion in oilfield pipelines"

2nd place - Amanshin Mahmud "Improving the system of pipeline transportation of high-viscosity oil on an uneven surface"

3rd place - Madiuali Adіlet, Kunanbayeva Malika "Choice of the optimal method of transportation"

Section Drilling oil and gas fields

1st place - Ibragimov Marlen "Methods for improving the productivity of wells by drilling"

2nd place - Rashidova Sabilya "Technology for the development of the composition of drilling fluids to improve the efficiency of drilling in hard rocks"

3rd place - Bigaliyeva Ayaulym "Methodology for designing and achieving negative differential pressure in the field conditions in the "well-formation" system"

The winners of the Oil&Gas Science Fair project competition were also awarded.

The conference served as an excellent platform for sharing experiences, networking and generating new ideas. The participants of the conference received a lot of positive impressions, as well as acquired knowledge for further education and career building.
