At the Kazakh-British Technical University under the guidance of Doctor of Phys.-Math. Sciences, Professor Nussupov K.Kh. new developments in the field of wind energy are created and patented. In 2019, an EU patent was granted under the International Patent Application "Multi-Stage Slotted Wind Turbine". A US patent was obtained for this wind turbine last week. Obtaining US and EU patents for a large installation is a rare and major achievement of domestic inventors.
The installation is designed to obtain a larger amount of generated energy by accelerating the wind inside the wind generator and converting its kinetic energy into electrical energy to obtain more power than world analogues. The system of truncated cones and virtual necks captures and compresses the airflow from all directions, increasing the speed of the directed airflow acting on the airscrew. The power of the installation increases in proportion to the cubic power of the speed.
The design of the wind turbine can withstand wind gusts up to 30 m/s. The installation is equipped with weathervane and protective equipment against destruction in hurricane winds. The axis of rotation of the airscrew is located at a height of 21 m. To protect against lightning strikes, an air terminal is in the upper part of the installation, which is electrically connected to the grounding at the base of the support tower.
Unlike existing wind generators, which propagate low-frequency and electromagnetic vibrations that negatively affect the body of biological objects, the wind turbine developed at KBTU ensures biological, acoustic, electromagnetic and mechanical safety of the environment. The design of the wind turbine provides corrosion resistance, resistance to temperature fluctuations in the range from -40°C to + 40°C and UV radiation.
