Cadets of the Kazakhstan Maritime Academy will perform practice in the waters of Turkey
On June 22, 2021, a Memorandum was signed between the Kazakh-British Technical University represented by acting rector Gabdullin M.T. and Piri Reis University represented by Erdogan O. The parties also signed an Agreement on the passage of maritime practice on the basis of Piri Reis University by cadets of the Kazakhstan Maritime Academy of KBTU.
The Kazakh-British Technical University is a leader in technical education, including maritime education in Kazakhstan.
KMA was created in cooperation with STC Group, was accredited by RMRS and MOTC of the Sultanate of Oman. More than one hundred specialists graduated for the maritime industry. The teaching staff of KMA has been trained in such countries as the USA, Russia, the Netherlands, Oman.
KBTU faces a new task - the expansion of international cooperation. Turkey is a recognized center of maritime education with extensive experience at the international level. According to the rating of Turkish Maritime Universities, Piri Reis University is the undisputed leader in maritime education.
After preliminary negotiations with the board of Piri Reis University, the KBTU delegation made a business visit to Istanbul. The KBTU delegation was headed by the acting Rector of KBTU Gabdullin M.T., Dean of KMA Duisenbiev A.Sh. and Deputy Dean Biktashev R.G.
In the period from 20 to 22 June 2021, the PRU campus, the university training base, as well as the training ship “Piri Reis University” were represented to the delegation. As a result of discussing possible areas of cooperation, a Memorandum of Understanding was concluded, as well as an agreement on maritime practice for cadets of the KMA aboard the training vessel "PRU".
On August 12, 47 cadets with the instructors of the KMA will fly to Istanbul for their maritime practice. Their practice will take place in the waters of the Marmara, Black and Aegean Seas, KMA cadets will pass the Bosphorus and Chanak-Kale straits. These will be unforgettable days filled with intense study and practice.
