Kazakh-British Technical University continues successful cooperation with the University of Reading, UK, within the framework of the British Council Creative Spark program. Recently the results of the KBTU Pitch Competition and IDEAFest were announced.

12 Kazakhstani teams took part in the international pitch competition for the best student startups KBTU Pitch Competition and IDEAFest. Three teams of the Kazakh-British Technical University and the team of the Kazakh National Conservatory named after S. Kurmangazy under the guidance of mentors-teachers of KBTU reached the final. As a result, the SYS team of 3rd year students of the Faculty of Information Technologies (FIT) of KBTU won with the project Share your skills in the Social Impact Kazakhstan category under the mentorship of the FIT KBTU teacher, Professor Asel Akzhalova. This fall, the SYS team continued to receive mentoring support from UK entrepreneurs. The main cash prize of £ 2000 was won by Martebe Abidilda from the Kurmangazy Conservatory under the mentorship of the teacher of the KBTU Business School Bakhyt Tasybayev with a project to promote Kazakh national music More than music.

We will remind, in 2018 KBTU, Reading University and the Kurmangazy Conservatory received a grant under the Creative Spark program.

Creative Spark is an entrepreneurial development program for higher education institutions supported by the British Council. This 5-year initiative is aimed at partnerships between universities in different countries. The program aims to develop entrepreneurial skills and the creative sector of the economy in seven countries, including Kazakhstan, with the support of the United Kingdom.
