The HackNGo team of the Kazakh-British Technical University became one of the 38 finalists of the global Red Bull Basement 2020 program.

What is Red Bull Basement?

It is a global project for innovative students who want to implement innovative ideas to improve student life.

In 2020, more than 3,800 student teams applied to participate in the project worldwide. Participants were required to submit a short video describing the essence of their idea. Then an open vote was held, according to the results of which 25 percent of the applications that received the largest number of votes were selected. After that, the local jury proceeded to select the three best projects, and then the global jury determined the national winner.

About the Kazakh winner - the HackNGo team

The team consists of 3 people - Temerlan Zhanbekov, Argun Autalipov and Asan Bekkaliev. All of them are 3rd year students of the Faculty of Information Technologies of KBTU, specialty "Computers and software".

The HackNGo team has experience in developing startups, this is their third project. “With the previous startup, we went through two incubations and one acceleration program,” said Temerlan Zhanbekov.

About the HackNGo project

“Our idea is quite simple - to help students looking for skills and jobs, and companies looking for young professionals,” Temerlan said. - The idea of such an application has always been somewhere nearby. Since we lived in a relatively small city, we did not have the opportunity to participate in various competitions and projects to get an internship. Therefore, I always wanted to solve this problem. On the other hand, having arrived in Almaty, we often heard from company representatives that it was difficult for them to find new qualified employees. In HackNGo, companies lay out various cases that need to be solved, while students fill out resumes, get together in teams and solve these cases. Both students and companies remain in the black. "

“We have only positive expectations from Red Bull Basement. We are very pleased to represent Kazakhstan at the global workshop. After an online meeting with the winners of 2018, we realized that Red Bull Basement is a great opportunity not only to talk about our idea at the international level, but also a chance to improve the lives of students around the world, Temerlan said. - We are in great anticipation and aim to win!

What will happen next?
