At the Kazakh-British Technical University, chess activities are highly dynamic. The university regularly organizes internal chess tournaments as well as events of city, national, and international significance. Particularly notable is the annual tournament "Chess Semester at KBTU," held among universities of Almaty and Kazakhstan. The university also hosts international tournaments for school students and applicants, such as "KBTU: First Acquaintance" and "KBTU Open," where winners are awarded KBTU scholarships.
Kazakh-British Technical University announces the traditional team chess tournament "Chess Semester at KBTU" 2024. Each university may register up to two teams to compete in the tournament, which will follow the rules of the International Chess Federation (FIDE). Team composition includes students and graduate students: three men and one woman.
