This Thursday, November 24 at 10:00-12:00, ISE will host another guest lecture by representatives of the academic faculty of Nazarbayev University Higher School of Business on the topic "Interpretation of financial data: people vs machines" by lecturer Tom Vinaimont.

Tom Vinaimont is the Academic Director for the Master of Science in Finance at NUGSB. Previously he was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics and Finance at the City University of Hong Kong. He obtained his doctorate in Finance from KULeuven in Belgium and was a Visiting Scholar at New York University, Lanzhou University and HKBU. Tom’s work on Finance appears in internationally refereed journals such as the Journal of Banking and Finance and the Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, in policy-related publications on security design and law and practice. He also worked in common law courts as defense expert witness on cases related to the functioning of financial markets and the trading of financial instruments. Tom received two university-level excellence awards from CityU and a teaching award from Nazarbayev University for Innovative Teaching.
