From November 14 to November 16, 2022, the Second Almaty Energy Forum «Building Resilient Energy Systems in Central Asia» will be held at the Kazakh-British Technical University.
This year’s 3-day Forum will gather regional policymakers, energy industry, finance sector and academia representatives, especially science and development researchers, to:
- Reflect and revisit proposed actions for Central Asia from the 1st Almaty Energy Forum and provide an update on ongoing regional projects
- Strengthen the agenda and provide the support to the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) and its Working Group on Water, Energy, and Environment
- Build a network of regional and international universities to foster next generation of energy experts and strengthen science-based policy making
The key themes of the 3-day dialogue include:
- Innovating & modernizing energy systems in Central Asia through low- and zero-carbon technology interplay
- Deploying energy-water-land nexus approach in Central Asia
- Strengthening regional cooperation & building cross-regional technical and institutional capacity
