Since its creation, The Business School has sought to develop partnerships on an institutional and individual level to deliver best in class services to our clients in every area of operations. We are uniquely placed within Central Asia as a node in the global education network to provide access to the region and to support key actors in the region to develop global links. We are also uniquely placed within Kazakhstan to draw on technically oriented faculty in other units of KBTU in IT, economics, maritime engineering, oil and gas, chemical engineering and digital media to produce hybrid programs and solutions for business.

We have a dual degree arrangement with Geneva Business School at undergraduate level.
Our EMBA in Oil and Gas offers a dual degree with EADA Business School in Barcelona, Spain and Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University), Russian Federation.
Our graduate students take a class from the Harvard Institute of Strategy and Competitiveness designed by the global strategy guru Michael Porter and taught in KBTU Business School under license from Harvard University.
We have exchange agreements with Kozminski University in Poland, Reading University in the UK, Boston University in the USA and EADA Business School in Barcelona, Spain as well as Soongsil and Sejong Universities in Korea and APUTI and the Technological University in Malaysia.
Our team of faculty and administrators have come together from the UK, Australia, Canada, the USA and Kazakhstan to support the development of the economy and society by stimulating a high technology, entrepreneurial future for the Republic.
ACBSP Accreditation
The Business School is awarded the prestigious international accreditation, ACBSP ( Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs ).
For the past five years, KBTU Business School has been a candidate for the ACBSP Accreditation. During this period, the School has constantly improved the quality of its academic programs, faculty and its interaction with stakeholders, including the business community and employers. The School has superb infrastructure and state of the art facilities.
The following KBTU programs are now ACBSP Accredited:
Undergraduate: Finance, Management;
Masters: MBA in the Oil and Gas (ACBSP accredited), MBA in Leadership (ACBSP accredited), MBA in Finance (ACBSP accredited), MS in Financial Analysis (ACBSP accredited), MS in Project Management (ACBSP accredited).
The Kazakh-British Technical University's academic programs meet international quality standards. The ACBSP Accreditation is recognition of the high quality of education at the KBTU Business School. Also, it is another milestone in the internationalization of the Kazakhstan educational space as a whole.
Founded in 1988, the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) is the global accrediting body for business education and the only organization offering accreditation at all levels of business training programs, from associate to doctoral level. ACBSP launches quality processes, starting with the accreditation process, based on the Baldrige Criteria for higher quality. Considering aspects of leadership, strategic planning, relations with stakeholders, the quality of academic programs, teacher qualifications, and education support, ACBSP assesses whether rigorous educational experience and continuous quality improvement offer business programs.
The KBTU Business School is a regional leader in business education. All programs of the Business School are taught in English and have professional accreditation, such as CFA, ACCA, CIMA. Students and undergraduates have the opportunity to study at the Bloomberg Lab and solve real business cases. Since 2013, the KBTU Business School has been affiliated with the Harvard Business School, the Institute of Microeconomics of Competitiveness - students and postgraduates study the discipline developed by this Institute and Harvard Professor Michael Porter. Also, KBTU Business School is affiliated with СFA Institute, which allows students and undergraduates to receive scholarships for the CFA exam.
ACBSP is a leading specialized accreditation association for business education recognized by the US Department of Education. ACBSP accredits over 1,000 business schools and programs worldwide with a focus on teaching excellence.
KBS Bachelor Program Performance
The following table (Figure 1) provides data on bachelor students recruited to 1st year, retained (from 2nd to 7th year), graduated and dropped during the past 7 years (2013-2019). Students enrolled in the 2014-2015 cohort graduated in June 2018. Recruited students represent those who were admitted to KBS bachelor programs. The number for ‘retained’ shows those who progressed toward graduation including students transferred to KBS from other schools. Dropped out students include those who did not meet KBS academic requirements, transferred to other universities or had to leave for other reasons.

KBS Master Program Performance
Figure 3 shows the total number of recruited, continuing, graduating and dropped students for the three master programs (MBA, MS in Financial Analysis, and MS in Supply Chain & Project Management) for the past 6 academic years (2014-2022). All data are taken from KBTU orders for enrolment, graduation and release. It is noted that, students admitted in 2017-2018 graduate in December 2018, so the bar shows the expected number of graduates. In general, the majority of enrolled students graduate within the set timeframe of 1.5 years. Rates for students taking an extension year and non-graduating exits (dropouts) are relatively low. Overall, our graduate programs have a high on-time completion rate.
