Goals and objectives: The aim of this program is to train qualified professionals who can work effectively in the field of geology and mineral exploration, with practical and scientific skills, such as methods of prospecting and exploration of minerals, including field work, drilling, laboratory research and data interpretation, development of communication, management and organizational skills necessary for successful work in the field. professional environment.
Terms and complexity of the program
The duration of the program is 4 years, considering: mastering at least 240 credits of the theoretical course of study (including the OOD cycle, DB cycle, PD cycle, additional types of training and final certification), passing educational and introductory, industrial practice and dual training; preparing and defending a thesis (project) and passing a comprehensive exam.
Advantages of the program
This educational program provides a unique opportunity to develop managerial, professional and research competencies due to the extensive material and technical base and integration of science and education in KBTU.
The educational program includes the study of methods of prospecting and exploration of minerals, including field work, drilling, laboratory research and interpretation of data, training students in the use of specialized software for modeling, data analysis and geological mapping, consolidating knowledge through practice in real conditions-participation in field expeditions, laboratory analyses and research projects.
Also, this educational program prepares students to work with large amounts of data, the ability to interpret them and formulate conclusions. In addition, students are taught to consider environmental aspects in the exploration and development of deposits, as well as the principles of safe work in the mining industry.
A distinctive feature of this program is that graduates, in addition to obtaining fundamental knowledge and technical skills, also master the basics of management, which allows them to successfully build a career in the field of management.
