KBTU Rector Awards 100% Scholarships to Winners of the International Robotics Championship in Houston

The Rector of the Kazakh-British Technical University, Maratbek Tulebergenovich Gabdullin, personally congratulated five school students from Karaganda — winners of the FIRST Championship international robotics competition held in Houston — along with their parents and mentors.
During the meeting, the Rector highlighted the students’ strong level of preparation, determination, and the significant contribution of their parents and mentors to the development of future engineers. In recognition of their outstanding achievements, Maratbek Tulebergenovich awarded each of the five students a 100% scholarship to study at KBTU.
The scholarships were granted to the School of Information Technology and Engineering. At the same time, the winners will be able to independently choose an academic program and faculty in line with their interests and professional goals.
The FIRST Championship in Houston is considered one of the world’s largest events in robotics and engineering creativity. It brings together the strongest teams that have passed national and regional selection stages. Victory at such a championship confirms not only technical knowledge, but also skills in design, programming, teamwork, project management, and the presentation of engineering solutions.
For the students from Karaganda, admission to KBTU had long been a dream. The University, in turn, sees them as future leaders of the technology sector, capable of contributing to KBTU’s engineering, research, and innovation ecosystem from their very first years of study.
Attracting winners of international competitions to the KBTU student community fully aligns with the University’s strategic mission: to train leaders of the digital industry, develop engineering education at an international level, and strengthen Kazakhstan’s status as a center of technological talent in Central Asia.
