JSC National Atomic Company "Kazatomprom" and the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) are implementing a joint project under the unique educational program "Uranium Engineering" — the first of its kind training program for specialists in Kazakhstan's uranium industry. The program was launched in the current academic year and continues to be steadily improved: the parties are working on its update, drawing on the real needs of the industry and best international practices. The company is actively involved in shaping the educational process: Kazatomprom specialists regularly deliver guest lectures to students, sharing practical experience and up-to-date industry knowledge, and also participate in organizing and conducting industrial internships. This format of collaboration allows future engineers to immerse themselves in a real production context from their very first years of study and to build professional connections while still in training.

In the spirit of this collaboration, on March 31, 2026, first-year students of the "Uranium Engineering" program visited JSC Volkovgeology, one of the key enterprises within the Kazatomprom structure. The visit took place in the format of an educational tour of the company's museum, where future specialists learned about the history of uranium's discovery, its significance for global and domestic industry, and the stages of development of the geological exploration sector in Kazakhstan.

The museum halls featured rock and mineral samples along with specialized equipment vividly demonstrating the scale and complexity of uranium mining processes. The exhibitions highlighted the achievements of Kazakhstani scientists and the company's contribution to strengthening the country's mineral resource base. Particular interest was sparked by real-life examples of geological exploration work: the future engineers were able not only to expand their theoretical knowledge but also to witness the practical side of their future profession.
Such visits strengthen the connection between education and industry, opening up real career prospects for students in one of the key sectors of Kazakhstan's economy.
