On August 31, the management of the Kazakh-British Technical University presented to the Deputy Mayor of Almaty Arman Kyrykbayev the process of building new buildings of the dormitory and a sports complex for students. The meeting included a tour of the facility, showing the progress and construction schedule.

This year, KBTU is building two new nine-floor dormitory buildings for 980 beds and a three-floor sports complex, consisting of a game hall with stands with a capacity of 198 seats. The sports complex will meet all international standards, students in their free time from educational activities can engage in such sports as table tennis, boxing, wrestling, futsal, volleyball, basketball, handball and others; there will be a hall for choreography lessons, as well as a gym.

The hostel is being built on the site of the old building. The staff of the House of Undergraduates and Students did a great job of transferring and distributing all the existing infrastructure on the remaining territory for the further full functioning of all services in order to ensure a comfortable stay for students.

The buildings will be built according to modern requirements. Commissioning is expected in December 2023. KBTU began construction at its own expense. In May, an agreement was signed with Financial Center JSC of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The construction company BI-Group was selected as the contractor through an open tender. All building codes and regulations are strictly observed.

Construction work is being carried out in accordance with the schedule, control from JSC "KBTU" is carried out by a specially created and staffed "Construction Management Office". In this direction, the university works on a permanent basis together with the Akimat of Almaty and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
