March 31, 2023, rector of KBTU Gabdullin M.T. delivered a speech at the webinar «GREAT Technology and Smart Cities», which was organized by the British Government with the support of the British-Kazakhstan Community, KBTU and the British Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan.
The rector of KBTU Gabdullin M.T. highlighted the theme of the Smart City Lab, which opened in April 2022 at KBTU together with the Department of Digitalization of the city of Almaty and the International Swiss organization IGLUS. This laboratory is designed to improve Almaty in terms of digitalization and process automation. This project, based on the smart city management methodology, allows you to centralize the collection and analysis of information and competencies in one place. Almaty will receive constant access to the best world experience and will develop as a modern city with a developed infrastructure.
«GREAT Technology and Smart Cities» webinar focused on three key areas: satellite application projects, digital twins, and smart cities. The UK is at the forefront of innovation in these areas and this webinar provided attendees with valuable insights into the latest developments and how they can be used to drive business growth and create new opportunities.
Participants learned about satellite application projects and how they change our lives and work. The webinar speakers shared how digital twins are changing the way we design and build everything from industrial facilities to entire cities. The UK experts also talked about the potential of smart cities, where data-driven analytics are used to create a more efficient and sustainable urban environment.
