Graduate

Kazakh-British Technical University offers two types of Master’s degree programs:

●    Professional Master’s Program – 1.5 years of study
●    Scientific and Pedagogical Master’s Program – 2 years of study

The Professional Master’s Program is more practice-oriented, focusing on deepening professional training. It is possible to combine studies with work, provided that classes are attended regularly.
If you plan to pursue scientific research and teaching in the future, you should enroll in the Scientific and Pedagogical Master’s Program. This program includes more hours dedicated to research and pedagogical disciplines. Upon graduation, you may continue your academic path by enrolling in a PhD program.

Language of instruction: English

{spoiler=Grant Work Obligation }

From 2021, master's and PhD students studying on government grants must work for 3 years after graduation. The rules have been simplified: graduates can work in either public or private sectors.

If a student studied on a grant and later switched to paid education, they must fulfill their work obligation proportional to the time spent on the grant. This also applies to students who later gain a grant via competition.

Timeline for Employment:
Graduates must begin working by September 1 of their graduation year, as directed by the university's distribution committee.
Liability for Non-Compliance:
Failure to comply with the work obligation requires repayment of the government’s educational expenses.

Exemptions from Work Obligation:
●    Self-payment of education costs
●    No job openings at the graduate's place of residence
●    Disability (Group I or II)
●    Continued education in residency, Master’s, or PhD programs
●    Pregnancy
●    Raising a child (children) under age 3

For up-to-date information on grant obligations, use the @Fincenter_bot (Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan) on Telegram.
